A Self-Care Night

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week! Whether you’re single or taken, everyone should treat themselves to a night of self care every once in a while (or every few days.) The products and routines I’m going to be showing you today are some of my favorites for when I want to relax and treat myself! Every product that I’m able to find online will be linked on each picture, so just tap on anything you want to be taken to it!

The very first thing I do on nights like these is shower. I never feel as relaxed or refreshed if I choose to shower in the morning. I’m not going to post the products I use because I will be posting a full shower and skincare routine eventually, but I do want to share something that I only use on self care nights. This Pink Himalayan Salt & Rose body scrub by the brand Origin makes my skin feel so soft! I use it everywhere, but especially on my legs after I shave. Plus, you’ll smell amazing afterwards!

Next, I take care of my hair. In the winter, my hair gets really dry, so I spray in this Chi Keratin Mist to give it some life again. I also use the Joico Leave-In Protectant because I put heat on my hair almost everyday. I know, I know- it’s terrible for it. My natural hair is just too ugly to wear down on its own and too thin to put it in any cute buns or braids. Both of these products make your hair smell AMAZING, which is my favorite part.

The last thing I do for my body is put on lotion. I’ve used the C.O Bigelow Freshwater Lavender Body Lotion for over a year. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it does make your skin super soft and smell great! If you’re like me and hate the smell of lavender, don’t worry. This is more of just a fresh and clean scent.

I like to give my room a relaxing vibe on nights full of self care. My favorite candle for this time of year is Tuxedo Nights from Bath & Body Works (although this is the last candle I buy from there- I just recently learned how bad they are for your lungs!) I fill my bed up with pillows and soft throw blankets, and turn of the big light in my room. I keep Christmas lights around my bed year round, so those go on along with a dim lamp. Add your favorite music and you’re good to go!

There are lots of things you can do during a self care night, but my favorite is a face mask! The one I have on in the tacky selfie you see below is the Quick Fix Facials exfoliating scrub mask for blackheads and blocked pores, which I have the most of.

When I’m ready to wind down, I do a variety of things. I may watch Greys Anatomy, which I’m obsessed with right now, or write. Writing is my favorite thing to do to relax myself, and this book makes it entertaining! It’s called “Adult-ish” by Cristina Vanko, and it’s full of fun little activities about being an “adult” to keep you busy. I may paint my nails, work on homework, or do some stretches before I go to bed.

That’s all for my self care night routine! One of my New Years resolutions was to take care of myself more often, and I’m so happy to share with you how I’ve done that! I hope you’ve gotten some tips or ideas from this post. As always, everything is linked down below. Thanks for reading and happy (early) Valentine’s Day everyone!
